DPS grads face remedial work in college

According to a recent article in the Rocky Mountain News, more than half of all Denver Public Schools graduates who enroll in a state college or university must take at least one remedial course. Most often, students must take remedial math courses.

These courses must be paid for at college tuition rates, but they do not count toward graduation requirements— adding increased expense and time to complete a college degree.
